About Clearwork
Complex work deserves clear leadership.
Clearwork was created to close the gaps that slow good projects down—unclear requirements, fractured communication, missing documentation, and important decisions living in people's heads.

Why Clearwork Exists
Good development depends on more than good developers. It requires clear decisions, usable requirements, aligned stakeholders, and someone willing to take ownership of the work in between. We bring practical structure to the space between an idea and a successful outcome.
Explore the sections below to learn more about why Clearwork exists, how we approach the work, and who we are.

Our Mission
Clearwork Studios exists to help organizations plan, document, and deliver technical projects more effectively.
We bridge the gap between business stakeholders and development teams, making sure the people responsible for defining, building, and using a solution share a clear understanding of the work.
Sometimes that means providing hands-on project leadership. Sometimes it means supporting a capable internal project team with requirements gathering, process documentation, RFQs, technical writing, end-user guides, or other specialized deliverables.
In every engagement, our goal is the same: make the work easier to understand, organize, and move forward.

Our Approach
Clearwork brings structure to the gaps that keep good projects from moving.
Clearwork brings a practical, people-centered approach to every engagement. We create enough structure to keep the work moving, communicate clearly across teams, and build strong working relationships without adding unnecessary complexity.
Clear Communication
We make complicated information understandable and ensure the right people have the context they need to make informed decisions, resolve questions, and keep the work moving forward.
Practical Structure
We meet each project where it is rather than forcing it into a one-size-fits-all system. We introduce the right level of process to create ownership, consistency, and momentum—without adding unnecessary bureaucracy or steps that do not serve the work.
Respectful Collaboration
We work comfortably across leadership, business users, subject-matter experts, vendors, and technical teams. Every group brings necessary knowledge to the project, and good outcomes depend on helping them work together.

Meet the Team

Katie Emerick
Founder & Principal Consultant
Katie is at her best when a project has too many moving parts, too much information living in people's heads, and no obvious path from “we know what we need” to “here is how we get it done.”
Areas of Expertise
- Project and delivery leadership
- Business analysis and requirements
- Technical and process documentation
- Stakeholder and vendor coordination
- Operational planning
- Cross-functional communication
Katie founded Clearwork Studios after years of working at the intersection of business operations, project delivery, technical teams, and client communication.
Her experience spans project and program management, business analysis, technical writing, process design, operational leadership, and enterprise technology implementations. She is particularly skilled at stepping into complex environments, identifying what is unclear or missing, and creating the structure teams need to make decisions and move forward.
Katie has supported projects involving Salesforce, enterprise integrations, document management, operational systems, and cross-functional process change, with substantial experience in the homebuilding and pharmaceutical industries.
Her approach combines clear expectations, practical organization, and respect for the people doing the work. She believes good consulting should leave clients with stronger understanding, better documentation, and systems they can continue using after the engagement ends.
